I haven't been to a Woodman's in years but never visited a location in Illinois until now. If this is your first time here, expect to get lost here and be amassed by aisle after aisle of food, drinks, produce and other grocery store practical items. My wife has never visited a Woodman's either so I wanted to give her an idea for when their Plainfield location opens up in the future. She was amazed by all the vegan, health conscious and gluten free items featured and brands she never knew existed. I personally think the prices are fair on a majority of items. Plenty of check out lines and parking too. Despite the store being huge, I did find it a bit odd that there were 3 separate areas for energy drinks. One area is all grouped by the unhealthy sugary soda area. Another section is by the fitness snack bars elsewhere and another is by the fresh produce. Someone would definitely have trouble with that. I did enjoy the clean restrooms. Great decent sized liquor store. Amazing hours! I could come by late at night after a late shift without the store closing!
Woodmans is such a great store! They have an incredible selection of groceries and liquor at prices that are very competitive. I eat mostly organic and gluten free and Woodmans has several aisles of natural, organic and gluten free products. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I once bought bread that well within the expiration date but when I opened the package it was moldy. They issued a refund no questions asked. Another time I accidentally left my phone in the cart and they promptly found and returned it to me. Their gas station usually has the cheapest prices around. It's not an issue for me, but they do only take debit cards or Discover.
Woodman's has everything you need. The variety can't be beat. The produce dept doesn't compare to the local fresh markets but it is improving, adding organic, etc.

Everything you've looking for as far as go to groceries on shelves. No bakery and no deli so don't bother if you want freshly baked or made.
Woodman's is just an all-around fantastic grocery store! Huge selection and competitive prices. The mobile app is convenient and very useful. I have used it several times to order my groceries ahead of time for pickup. A very convenient service! Woldman's also offers delivery service. This location has been my go to grocery store since it was built here. Proud to be "The Duke" of Woodman's!
We drove 30 minutes the wrong direction on 88 today and were determined to find something of value in the mistake. Obviously I scouted the area on Yelp. In the snippets that popped up when I searched gluten free, I saw a mention of gluten-free pieroges. "That's it! Let's go!" Then I saw that I had posted a five star review for this place and it became a moral imperative that I revisit and renew. (Especially because I had gushed over the gluten-free selection!) I am delighted to announce that the gluten-free selection was even better today than it was last year! (The rest of the store is great too-- and it's employee owned.) Special diets of all sorts are addressed here and the shelves and aisles are clearly labeled. Did I mention the super nice staff and shoppers? Everyone is so tolerant of me gushing!
08/25/21 - I was out in Aurora today & I needed to get gas so I stopped off at Woodman's Gas as they have the lowest prices that I know of. While I was out there I decide to restock my 15 yr old Glenfiddich as this has become one of my favs. If you don't know Woodman's is an employee owned store that has awesome prices on a number of thangs that I use like gas & my baby 15 yr Glenfiddich. Even though the price went up $3 from the last time to $55.99 it's still less then Binny's @ $69.99 for the same bottle.
